my dad’s promotion ceremony this past weekend was a wonderful experience. it was a great excuse to get the whole family together and it is not every day that you get to see your biggest role model swear under oath and become an admiral in the navy! it was something truly special.
as an added bonus,we happened to be in washington, dc right during a heatwave and while others might have thought it too hot, i thought 90 degrees in october was the greatest thing ever! i took the opportunity to get some last use out of items that are about to get put away for the long and cold months ahead, like my absolute favorite summer sandals and this fun dress borrowed from my sister-in-law.
while i will admit it was a little warm to be sitting outside attending a naval ceremony, i think we will all be missing this weather in just a little while. plus, it was totally worth it.
