as i mentioned last week, this past weekend was my company holiday party. i had wanted to wear something sparkly because it just screams holiday and also because i like to break stereotypes about accountants 😉 i had looked into renting this dress and was totally sold on it but with tax and insurance etc it was going to be $100 which was just far too much for one night!
so alas, i ended up going with an LBD. i actually borrowed this one from a friend because i have worn my own LBD so many times lately that i just felt like i needed something at least new to me. it is from a local boutique here in kansas city that i am seriously thinking i need to go visit because this dress was amazing! it fit so perfectly, with a fun neckline and it was my favorite style: fit and flare! because of the unique neckline i decided to forgo my usual statement necklace and went with statement earrings instead. i loved how it all came together and had a fun night in this ensemble!
also, i wore lipstick! this is big for me since i never used to like it much; weird textures and tastes, wears off, gets on teeth, can’t kiss anyone, the list goes on. however i wanted to give this outfit a pop of color and also wanted to feel like an adult so i ran to my local wal-mart of all places and found this cheap (i’m talking $3.50 with tax) one that is actually amazing! i definitely recommend it, i think it may have transformed me into a lipstick person and since it is so cheap you can afford to pick out a few!
