over the weekend, we attended my alma mater’s scholarship ball, a fancy night of dinner, dancing and fundraising. this was my third year at the event and it is consistently one of my favorite nights of the year; a mix of benefactors, alumnae and students of the college, young and old, make for a great crowd and the band is quite possibly the best in the city!
in the past i have always worn a shorter cocktail dress but this year i decided to go long, because events like these where you can wear a long gown are few and far between! i rented this one from rent the runway and was so pleased with it. the sequin detail was incredible; it is actually called the meteor shower dress because when you twirl it looks like shooting stars! if you have an event coming up i would highly recommend it.
i will say though that i did not really think through my ensemble completely; i forgot how intensely we dance our little hearts out at this event! i had to hold my dress the whole time and my friend had to pin my hair into a bun in the bathroom (as you may have seen here) because we needed to be able to rock out. and we did just that as evidenced by some of the photos i posted on instagram! 😉
