by the time you read this i am probably en route on my way to italia! i know these days are going to fly by but i am excited to enjoy each one and will be sure to share some peeks into the trip on instagram so be sure to follow along! 🙂

one: the much-anticipated (by me) album from david nail was finally released this week. while i will admit that i am not crazy over every song, i am absolutely obsessed with “countin’ cars”, “burnin’ bed”, “i’m a fire”, “kiss you tonight” and “broke my heart”. you can listen to the full album here!
two: i am actually really excited for lent this year! giving things up for lent has never been all that hard for me, but it has always been hard to remember the true meaning of lent because i am so focused on what i am giving up. so this year i decided that in addition to giving something up (the snooze button, lord help me) i am also taking on things: sending letters and praying for the huz every morning. i always love snail mail because it is thoughtful and it lets you know that you are on someone’s mind, so i am going to write at least one note to a friend each week. to pray for matt, i am using a devotional called “the power of a praying wife”. this book is so great because the chapters are only two pages each and there is a chapter for everything “when he needs…” “when he feels…” you get the idea. i hope these things help me remember that life is best lived when lived for others, as christ showed when he died on the cross for our sins.
three: a few new things: mac just came out with a new lipstick line and i picked up this fun purple-ish pink color. i grabbed this pastel clutch from gap that has been all over instagram lately, as well as a platinum foldover clutch that very reminiscent of this one by clare vivier. also, i got the most amazing dress from catch bliss boutique which i cannot wait to wear in italy! if you have not already checked out their shop, you absolutely must! also, some new tortoise shell jewels and the most adorable bow bracelet from socal gems, another shop that you must check out! amazing quality and even better prices!
four: finding out our wedding was featured on borrowed and blue! our photographer emailed us a few weeks ago saying that she had submitted our wedding to the website and was hoping that ours would be picked and then we got the email this week that they picked us! it was so great being able to look through the pictures once again and re-live that special day. if you have not checked it out yet and would like a glimpse of it, you can find it here!
five: while i am totally over the snow, the other night when i got out of work it was kind of warm (meaning probably around thirty) but snowing at the same time. it was the lightest snow, barely even noticeable, but it was a magical moment walking through downtown with snowflakes lightly falling on my face.
oh and knowing we were leaving for italy at the end of the week! 🙂
