BACK TO BASICS.

BACK TO BASICS.
while it can be fun putting together new outfits, sometimes it is best to pare it down and go back to the basics.  today i have teamed up with my gal pal alexa of bright city brunette to share with you two looks, one more feminine and one more edgy, that are both comprised of simple basics.  the best part about basics, in my humble opinion, is that they can be mixed and matched to make a multitude of looks.  both of us went with dark wash denim, white tops and heels, but the two looks are totally different.
i love how alexa paired her sweet white overlay blouse with a classic dark wash jeans and black accessories.  definitely an outfit that can be worn in many settings!  see her full look and outfit details here.  for my own look, i went with a simple white top, coated black denim and statement heels.  i actually wore this outfit over the weekend when we went down to the bar district in fayetteville that i mentioned yesterday.  it was a perfect outfit for a night out on the town and i was able to put it together with basics that i had in my suitcase!
oh and before i go, a quick note about these coated denim pants from articles of society and that is: GET THEM NOW!  jean shopping is totally a chore for me, nothing ever fits just right and it gets discouraging really quickly.  i was nervous since i ordered these online but when i slipped them on i literally yelled to matt to come look because they fit like a glove.  although they are coated to look similar to leather pants, they are extremely soft and stretchy but tight enough to hold everything in, if that makes sense.  anyways, they are great and i have decided that everyone needs a pair!
