FRIDAY FIVE.

FRIDAY FIVE.

happy friday!  coming back to work after a vacation is always hard and even harder when all i can think about are the upcoming holidays.  anyone else counting down the days until christmas?  i cannot believe how quickly it is coming up, i need to start shopping for gifts!  and yes, i said start… i’ve only bought one gift so far.  maybe i need to take my own advice and check out my gift guides 😉

anyways, my top five from the past week…

——————–
ONE: getting to experience chicago with matt.  he has always told me how much he loved chicago and i had only ever been once for a conference so did not really get to see the city.  it was fun being able to experience it with him and have him point out the places he had been and what each building was, and his memories from past visits.
TWO: finally meeting alexa, who i had considered a friend for the past year, in person!  such a doll, we had a great time chatting over lunch and making plans to hopefully get together again.
THREE: i love trying new restaurants around the city and always have a list going of places to try.  renee kelly’s harvest has been on my radar for about a year now after a recommendation from a friend and i finally got to try it last night.  let me just say, it absolutely blew me away!  miss renee kelly herself came and chatted for a long time and she is darling and the food was absolutely incredible.  i will definitely be posting more about it.
FOUR: started a new book and am loving it so far – the husband’s secret by liane moriarty.  in my opinion, one of the best parts of winter is bundling up with a good book and a cup of coffee!
FIVE: christmas decorations going up everywhere!  i have been loving everyone’s decorations around town and when we were in chicago a bunch of the stores had special window displays and lights.  everything is so much more magical during the christmas season!
