While the temperatures may be dropping, I am certainly not ready to put away my white jeans and don’t know if I ever will. At this point it has become common knowledge that the saying “no white after Labor Day” is outdated, but I think a lot of people are still scared to wear their white jeans. White silk blouse? Fine! White sweater? Okay! But white jeans? Not so sure.
I am here to tell you that, YES, you can wear them and wanted to share a few styling tips that will help you transition those white jeans straight over to fall.
1. Pair with colors, textures, and prints that are synonymous with fall. Think black, jewel tones, and earth tones, wool, suede, flannel and fur, and of course, lots of plaid. This will keep the look from looking too “summer-y”.
2. Wear with seasonal shoes like booties, riding boots, loafers, oxfords, or flats.
3. Lipstick. You’d be surprised how different an outfit may look with a bright pink compared to a berry lip. Be sure to choose your lip color carefully, especially if you want to try the “winter white” trend.
This lipstick in shade #9 is my current go-to, and I have heard that ‘Rebel’ is flattering on all skin tones.
4. Accessorize! Throw on a felt hat, an oversized scarf, or a dark-colored satchel to transition that look from summer to fall.
