Welcome back to “Holiday Week”! Up on tap today is inspiration for those semi-formal events that come up all throughout the season – work parties, gift exchanges with your girlfriends, dinner with your in-laws, etc. I find these to be the most common events, where a nice dress isn’t required, but you don’t want to show up in a flannel button-down. For these events, the best solution is metallics and statement jewelry.
The combination is festive without being too obvious and there are so many variations! Metallic fabrics have a chic air about them which is perfect to make sure you are not underdressed. As for jewelry, I suggest picking one statement piece, whether that be a bold necklace or a fabulous pair of earrings.
What’s great about a metallic skirt is that you can dress it down with a pullover sweater, glam it up with a lace tank and blazer, or go with a silky button down for that middle ground. Grab a red bag and a red lip (which I somehow forgot, bah humbug!) and you are good to go.
