FESTIVE CASUAL – WHAT TO WEAR ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

The one good thing about the cooler weather is all the cozy clothing that goes along with it.  I find myself in a uniform of sorts – ripped denim, oversized sweater, blanket scarf.  I would apologize, but I have no intention of changing that formula any time soon.  It’s just too easy and it’s one of those combos that feels very “me”.  While the combination is nothing new, all of these pieces are and I know they are going to be on repeat all throughout the season!  Plus, I think this would be the perfect outfit for Christmas Day!

Olive green is a universally flattering colors, so I love it for fall and winter.  The exposed seams on this sweater are the most unique facet but I also love that it fits perfectly oversized (for reference since it is “one-size”, I typically size up to a medium in sweaters for an oversized fit, and would say this fits like a M/L).

After getting so much use out of my black ripped jeans, I knew that I needed a regular blue denim pair in my wardrobe but could never find the right pair.  Leave it to my favorite budget-friendly denim brand to make the perfect pair.  I’ve been a fan of Articles of Society for a while now and always recommend them to friends who are looking for great denim at a good price point (always under $100) – you can’t go wrong!  See past posts in AOS here, here, and here.  They also sell at Nordstrom, so you know they’re legit 😉

Finally, what would a winter outfit be without a blanket scarf?!  As I was cleaning out my closet the other day I realized that I’ve become quite the hoarder (especially considering that I haven’t even unpacked most of my winter clothing) because I have a whole bin full of scarves.  However, in my defense, when you live in a place that experiences true winter, every single outfit needs a scarf purely for the sake of survival, so a girl’s got to have options.  That being said, I think this one is my new favorite.  I love that it is white-based, making it a little brighter for those dreary days, and the red and green plaid is perfect for the holidays.  If you are still looking for gifts for any girls in your life, I think this scarf would be a great one!  (PS: I also posted my personal wishlist with tons of ideas for the ladies if you’re still looking for suggestions.  You can see that HERE.)
