While certain plaid variations are appropriate year round, I’ve had this particular top for a few years now and reach for it all throughout the season, wearing it with everything from jeans to skirts. The latter is my preference because I appreciate the juxtaposition of the casual printed top with a more feminine piece.
As I was digging through my closet over the weekend I stumbled upon this reversible scarf – it is blackwatch plaid on one side and a thin black and white plaid on the other side – and I thought it would be a nice pairing with the top. Worn showcasing the black and white side, I loved how the blackwatch plaid side just peeked out here and there – a little “double the fun” action.
I want to quick mention the skirt because I get tons of questions asking where to get it. Unfortunately mine was one of those superb TJ Maxx finds, but Forever21 has an identical version – literally it looks exactly the same! For months it has been available in burgundy but sold out in black but I just saw that it has been restocked in all sizes in black! So if you’ve been loving mine, you should definitely consider the Forever21 version!
