At first, wearing a dress over a pair of pants sounded absurd to me and I wrote it off as one of those “runway trends” that real people just can’t pull off. Then I found myself in a dressing room a few months ago and was honestly just too lazy to take off my pants when trying on a dress (styled HERE) and realized I actually loved the way it looked! Turns out it’s a lot easier than you might think, so I want to share my two little tips on how you can rock this trend.
1. Make sure the dress isn’t too long; mid-thigh is ideal. This is a great trend for you tall girls who order dresses only to find out they are too short to be dresses but too long to be shirts!
2. Choose shoes that are either the same color as your pants (like I did here), shoes with a heel, or shoes with a pointy toe. All of these will help elongate your legs, keeping them from appearing cut off by the hemline of your dress.
Keep those two styling tips in mind and you can transition those fall dresses into the winter months!
