WHAT I WANT WEDNESDAY: PANTONE’S COLOR(S) OF THE YEAR.

WHAT I WANT WEDNESDAY: PANTONE’S COLOR(S) OF THE YEAR.

Each year the color experts at Pantone announce a “color of the year” which influences clothing, makeup, and interior design trends for the next twelve months.  This year Pantone broke with the mold and announced not one but two colors of the year – serenity (a periwinkle blue) and rose quartz!  They are meant to be loved separately but were also chosen for the beautiful and calming effect of their pairing.
What I love about these colors is that they can truly be worn in some way all throughout the year, whether it be a shoe, a lipstick, a bag, or a dress.  I’m a huge fan of winter pastels as they infuse a lightheartedness into what is typically a dark season.  But even more than that, the pairing reminds me of a sunset that I could sit and watch evolve until the stars appear.
Below are my favorite picks in the two hues…
What are your thoughts on there being two color(s) of the year?  Do you favor one over the other?
