While I had told myself I was going to take a “break” from the blog this week to recharge after Busy Season, I am taking a break from it (no pun intended 😉 ) because I had to let you guys know about an awesome sale that just started today… the Shopbop Friends and Family Sale! This week you can score 25% off full-priced and sale items with the code INTHEFAM. It is the perfect time to stock up for Spring and Summer at a discount – and have something to look forward to once the warm weather decides to stick around for good 😉
A few quick reasons why I think this sale is so great:
- Shopbop has an extensive repertoire of designers and brands, including tons of up-and-coming brands you won’t find elsewhere! (Scroll to the end for a few of my favorite new brand arrivals)
- Free shipping and returns! I’ve seen a meme before that went “When you’re perfectly fine paying $130 for the items in your cart but $5.99 shipping makes you question everything” – so dramatic but so true – I’ve literally cancelled orders after finding out I had to pay for shipping, haha!
I prefer to order what I think I want, try on at home, and return whatever doesn’t work – makes my anxiety-tending heart so happy! Also, you might not realize this, but if you are an Amazon Prime member you get free 2-day shipping!
- The 25% discount applies to current styles, not discontinued Winter styles they are trying to get rid of – much like the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, the Shopbop Friends and Family Sale is the best sale to stock up for the upcoming months before items jump back to full retail price for the rest of the season!
- Quality. Yes, Shopbop’s inventory is typically a little more expensive (though not more expensive than if you bought the same things from a different retailer like Nordstrom) but that’s because they only carry quality brands. Everything I’ve ever purchased from Shopbop has been 100% worth the price tag – they take the guess work out of the shopping experience by only carrying items that are worth the buy. However, if you do end up feeling post-shopping guilt, those free returns make it super easy!
With that, below are some of my favorite upcoming trends along with my top picks for each…
Lace and Eyelet Fabrics: Nothing says Spring and Summer quite like these textiles – they are light, airy, and whimsical.
When I think of lace pieces, Alexis immediately comes to mind. The designs are feminine and classic with a modern twist – and while an investment, the 25% discount would certainly help!
When it comes to unique and edgy takes on lace, no one does it better than For Love and Lemons. Think carefully placed mesh, loads of eyelash lace, and plenty of sex-appeal.
Denim Separates: With the resurgence of the 70’s, pretty much everything is now offered in a denim varietal – and I don’t hate it!
If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling Instagram and falling head over heels for the pair of denim shorts a girl was wearing, chances are they were One Teaspoon. OT has become a cult favorite, mastering the Cali-girl / model off duty vibe with their cheeky (and often distressed) shorts but have also expanded into tops, jeans, even dresses. I couldn’t decide so I ordered two pairs – can’t wait for them to get here! UPDATE: Kept and love these ones!
I’ve sung the praises of Frame Denim time and time again – their jeans are my absolute favorite for their perfect fit and minimalistic designs (no pocket detailing/advertising) – but the line also includes overalls, shirts, jackets, and denim skirts.
Block Heels: Move over wedges, this Summer’s shoe of choice is the block heel! The wider base makes this style super comfortable while still giving your legs that extra length – win-win!
Always coming in at a reasonable price point for such great quality, Dolce Vita is one of my favorite shoe brands and I find that they consistently do some of the best wedges, heels, and booties.
