CLOSET BASICS.

CLOSET BASICS.
gold-hatted lover, closet basics, leather skirt, chambray shirt, j.crew factory leopard loafers

The best parts about basics is a tie between a) they can all be mixed and matched and work every time – perfect for those days when you just do not know what to wear, and b) they can be anything but basic.  I know that sounds confusing but let me explain.  While some people think closet basics are simply a white tee, great fitting skinny jeans, a pair of black flats, etc, this outfit is made up of what I would consider basics: chambray, leather, and leopard.  Now I know that some might argue that “leather is too edgy” and “leopard is a print” but I would say that they are wrong 😉

In my mind, these three can be worn so many ways and what’s great is that there are so many options.  Leather seem too biker for your style?  Go for a skirt or a peplum top.  Leopard seem too bold?  Go with a skinny belt or a scarf in a muted palette for just a touch of animal print.  Just trust me that you need these three in your wardrobe!

I would love to hear, what do you consider to be basics in your closet?  Leave them in the comments below!
