On Valentine’s Day, to work/class I always try to wear something casual that is pink or red or maybe has hearts on it because I love the festivity of it all, but to be honest for the date I almost always wear a LBD or something not pink – frankly I don’t find myself drawn to a hot pink dress in the middle of winter when it feels like -50 degrees outside. If you’re in the same boat, I wanted to show you a Valentine’s Day outfit idea that isn’t pink and share my key to finding the right look for the big night.
Whether you simply aren’t a fan of pink or red or just aren’t looking to spend the money on something new, it doesn’t matter because the right Valentine’s Day look should already be in your closet. It should be the piece that makes you feel utterly beautiful – whether it be blue, green, yellow, striped, whatever. It should be something that when you put it on, you fall in love with yourself – it is the day of love after all 😉
We all have that one dress that makes us feel like a straight up 10 (or at least we should) – that dress that saves us on more occasions than we care to admit. Mine are this one (also seen here) that is sadly no longer available – I can’t even count how many events/weddings/galas/dates I have worn it- and this one pictured in today’s post that I just got recently. Thought it is new, I can already tell it’s going to be worn over and over again because I never wanted to take it off and felt like a smokeshow in it. I wore it to a wedding last weekend and it didn’t hurt that I got multiple guests coming up to compliment it as well complete strangers as we were walking around town before the events started 😉 I also loved that it will work year-round due to the coloring and the cut of the dress.
I hope I have inspired you to take off those rose-colored glasses and think outside the box this Valentine’s Day. Don’t let any norms or expectations dictate what you think you have to wear – wear what makes you feel your best!
