There are two staples that every woman needs in her closet: a little black dress and a cocktail dress that makes her feel like a million bucks. When I found this dress, I recognized it as the marriage of the two. The trumpet sleeves, flattering fit, eyelash lace hem, and all-over lace body set it apart from just any old black dress while still being completely versatile. I was stupid excited to wear it to the Scholarship Ball a few weeks ago – my poor husband had to hear me talk about it that whole week leading up to the ball (these are the moments I just need to live with my sisters again haha) and you would have thought I was going to be wearing some designer gown with how excited I was – nope, just a $30 dress from Forever21. I love when I find gems like that – it takes patience, but I can’t tell you how many times I have found amazing finds at places like Forever21 and H&M. This particular dress is nearly sold out, but all-over lace is having a moment right now so there are tons of similar options which would be so great for any event, shower, or wedding you have coming up.
Speaking of my two favorite budget-friendly shops, last weekend I had a few errands to run at the mall, so while I was there I made sure to pop into both. While at H&M I stumbled upon this eyelet lace top and fell in love. For some reason unbeknownst to me I left without it, but I’m thinking I may have to go back 😉 Especially after seeing how my friend Jacy styled it! Anyway, while I was in there I got to thinking. H&M is infamous for their designer collaborations and with all the feminine trends this year (like all-over lace) and Pantone’s colors of the year being pastels (serenity and rose quartz), I started wondering if their next collaboration might be with a more feminine design house. Maybe Chloe or Kate Spade? I would be ALL OVER THAT. Guess we will just have to wait and see!
