Sticking to a neutral palette exudes an air of sophistication – you can’t deny that a carefully put together black and white outfit looks tres chic. However, sometimes a punch of color adds just the right amount of playfulness. A red lip, bright clutch, and red flats ala Wizard of Oz were just what I needed for date night over the weekend.
It had been a while since we had shot outfit photos for the blog because honestly, I just couldn’t deal with the cold anymore, haha! But over the weekend we were graced with the perfect weather: 80 degrees and just enough humidity that the warmth stuck around after the sun went down. We made the most of it and shot a few outfits, walked around downtown, and then popped into our favorite Thai restaurant.
Side note: Matt told me I had to take my hat off in the restaurant. Is that a rule I didn’t know about? I told him sorry but I couldn’t, it was part of my outfit. See also: “hat hair”.
It had been a while since I’d pulled out my beloved black felt hat, not sure why since I feel most like myself in a hat and big sunglasses. This particular one comes in three different sizes so it’s perfect for those of us with weirdly tiny heads and you smarties with big noggins 😉
Hope you all had a great weekend and your week is off to a wonderful start – thanks for stopping by!
PS: Did you notice that I changed the layout of my posts to intersperse the text throughout? My thought was that it would be easier to read since otherwise I tend to ramble and it can be hard to read – haha. Do you like it, or prefer the old way??
