Clean Beauty Reviews, vol IV.

Coming at you with some more clean beauty reviews. A liquid lipstick, a hair product, a facial oil, and a mask – and as always my 100% candid reviews of each.

I know that venturing into the world of clean beauty can be intimidating and I want to make it easier for you while also making sure you don’t waste your time with anything that isn’t absolutely fantastic!

Lawless Soft Matte Liquid Lipstick

Lipstick is one of the most important things to me when it comes to clean beauty. Why? Because I just want to kiss my baby’s cheeks all day long and I cringe thinking that I could be passing along harmful chemicals when I’m loving on him. Isn’t that scary to think about?!

The Lawless soft matte liquid lipsticks are fantastic. I own two shades: Brad (a mauve-y nude) and Alex (a bright pink). They wear really well, aren’t as drying as some other liquid lip products, and have a soft matte finish. I wish the shade range was a bit wider, but I think in time more will be added!

REN Rose O12 Moisture Defence Oil

It’s hard because every oil I try I can’t help but compare to my beloved Kiehl’s – it acts as my benchmark!

That said, the REN Rose 012 Moisture Defence Oil is a yes for me… with a caveat. I recommend this product if you are a) looking for a clean facial oil, b) love rose scented things (the rose scent is very prominent which personally I found heavenly but some might find a bit overbearing!), and c) have a dry skin type (it is thicker in viscosity than the Kiehl’s so I only used it at night). However, if you aren’t all of those things or if you prefer something that can be used both morning and night, I would recommend my favorite Kiehl’s oil.

Innersense Sweet Spirit Leave In Conditioner

Overall, not the biggest fan of the Innersense leave in conditioner… which was surprising since the sales associate at Follain literally said “Great choice, I will be shocked if you don’t like it because everyone is obsessed with it!”

That said, I think it may have been user error; hear me out for a second. What I was really shopping for was a detangler, not a leave-in conditioner. However, I saw this, knew it was clean (love that Follain takes out the guesswork by carefully curating their selection!) and it was available in a travel size so I could try before fully committing. I figured, there can’t be a big difference between a detangler and a leave-in conditioner, right?

I presume that if I used this product as intended, as a leave-in conditioner after my hair has already been combed, I would feel more warm about it. The pros are that it doesn’t weigh my hair down and has a light scent that is very pleasant, however it isn’t powerful enough to cut through my tangles when I am fresh out of the shower. I’ve since switched to the Honest detangler and had much better luck!

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask

The Tata Harper resurfacing mask is a cult favorite for good reason! If you’re looking for a product that will give immediate results, this is a winner.

Packed full of skin-loving enzymes, this mask exfoliates the skin’s outer layer without the use of any harsh chemicals. What you’re left with is smooth, radiant skin.

My one “complaint” is that the gel texture feels a little funny, but I quickly got over that when I saw (and felt!) instant results from this mask.

While on the pricey side, Tata Harper is a brand I feel is worth it. You can trust that the products will be made with only pure, non-toxic ingredients of the highest quality, they do their part to protect the Earth (it’s no coincidence that the jar is glass rather than plastic), and it is a female-centric brand which I can always get behind (their lab scientists are all female!)
